The MFCU reviews reports of abuse or criminal neglect of patients that take place in medical facilities. When appropriate, the MFCU can work in conjunction with state agencies such as the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (BHCQC), Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD), Elder Protective Services (EPS) and the Clark County Public Guardians Office to investigate and prosecute those persons who have committed abuse or neglect against the elderly or vulnerable adults.
