Community Notification of Sex Offenders


State law gives the Nevada Attorney General the authority to set the guidelines for community notification of where a registered sex offender lives and/or works. The Attorney General sets these guidelines with the guidance of the state Advisory Council for Community Notification. You can read the current Sex Offender Community Notification Guidelines here.

    The state statutes also require the state to maintain an http://www.nvsexoffenders.gov/. Only offenders who are categorized as a Tier 2 or Tier 3 offenders, those most likely to reoffend, are listed in the online database. The database is maintained by the State Criminal History Repository.
