Carson City, NV – Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced potential grantees have until Oct. 8 to submit a letter of intent and must submit an application for grant funding by Oct. 21. The office received $1,666,697 in 2013 Formula Grant Awards from the United States Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.

The formula grants are funded through the federal Violence Against Women Act. The Office of the Nevada Attorney General (AGO) receives and administers the following programs annually:

      • Services-Training-Officers-Prosecution (STOP) Grant; and
      • Sexual Assault Services Provider (SASP) Grant.

The AGO sub-grants these awards to local, regional and statewide programs providing victim centered intervention through non-profit service providers, law enforcement, prosecution, and courts. These programs serve to enhance victim safety and hold offenders accountable for their crimes of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking in Nevada.

Applications to apply for STOP/SASP funding and a letter of intent were made available today on the AGO’s website under the Grants tab or by visiting http://ag.nv.gov/Grants/Grants.

A letter of intent or continuation to apply for funding is due at the AGO by Tue, Oct. 8 and are included within the application. Completed applications and budgets are physically due in the Carson City AGO by 5:00 p.m. on Mon, Oct. 21. Late applications will not be considered for funding.
