NEVADA ATTORNEY GENERAL URGES CONSUMERS TO FILE DRAM SETTLEMENT CLAIMS
by Aug. 1
Eligible to those who Purchased Computers, Printers, Video Game Consoles, or
Other Electronic Devices with DRAM Memory from 1998 to 2002

Las Vegas -
Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto urges eligible Nevada consumers
to submit a claim online or by mail by the Aug. 1 deadline in the $310 million
Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) settlements.
“The DRAM
settlements affect almost every consumer in Nevada that purchased computers and
other electronic devices from 1998 to 2002,” said Masto. “Time is running
out to submit a claim. Impacted consumers can file a simple claim to
receive compensation from the settlements. I encourage those eligible to
sign up and get their rightfully owed money.”
Claims can be
flied online at
www.DRAMclaims.com
in five minutes or less. The deadline to file claims is Aug. 1.
More information about the settlements is available by:
Individual
and business consumers can file a claim if their purchases were between 1998 and
2002.
Purchasers of
large amounts of DRAM or DRAM products could get thousands of dollars depending
on the amount of product purchased. The minimum payment for smaller
purchases of DRAM or DRAM products is expected to be $10, but the actual payment
amount can vary based on the total number of claims filed.
DRAM is a high density, low cost per bit, memory component that stores digital
information and provides high-speed retrieval of data. DRAM is sold
separately or pre-installed in electronic devices such as computers (laptops,
desktops, and servers), graphics cards, video game consoles, MP3 players,
printers, PDAs, DVD players, and Digital Video Recorders.
Any payments resulting from the settlements cannot be made until the court has
granted final approval to the settlements, including the resolution of any
appeals. It is anticipated that final approval will occur within the next few
years. Also, if too many or few claims are received, the court may order
that the settlements’ funds be provided to public or non-profit organizations in
addition to or instead of consumers who file claims.
The
settlements
reached by Nevada and 32 other states, in coordination with class actions,
resolves antitrust litigation with 12 DRAM manufacturers over claims of price
fixing.
