Nevada Attorney General Reminds Consumers of Twitter Townhall to Answer Nevadans’ Housing and Financial Questions

March 7, 2014

LAS VEGAS – Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto reminds consumers of a “Twitter Town Hall” event, in which all Nevadans are invited to participate, Friday, March 7, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Participants are asked to use the Twitter hashtag #AskHomeAgain when posting questions.

“We are proud of the help we’ve been able to offer, but we also know that consumers are still hurting,” said Masto. She continued, “We want to make sure that those who qualify for assistance are able to access the free housing and financial help offered through Home Again.”

The interactive, online event will offer Nevadans an opportunity to communicate with housing and financial counselors live via Twitter about buying a home, credit restoration, loan modification, foreclosure, and other free resources that may be available, from the convenience of their own computers or phones.

The event will be hosted by the Home Again Nevada Homeowner Relief Program as part of National Consumer Protection Week. The Home Again Program is a one-stop, no-fee public service designed to provide housing and financial assistance to Nevadans. The Home Again Program was initiated by Attorney General Masto following an unprecedented multi-state settlement with the nation’s five largest mortgage lenders over foreclosure abuses and unacceptable nationwide mortgage servicing practices. More than 12,000 Nevadans have contacted Home Again since the program was launched in 2013.

Nevadans are invited to contact Home Again by calling toll-free 1-855-HLP-4-NEV (1-855-457-4638) or by visiting HomeAgainNevada.gov. Assistance is available in English and Spanish. For more information about National Consumer Protection Week, visit www.ncpw.gov.
