Applications due by August 16
Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced that the Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (NCPDV) is seeking six new members. The brief application will be accepted July 1, 2013 through August 16, 2013.
“I encourage those who have an interest in addressing the issue of domestic violence prevention to apply for the Council,” said Masto.
The mission of the NCPDV includes providing direction to the Governor and the Legislature on statewide domestic violence policy and legislation; increasing public awareness of the magnitude and seriousness of domestic violence and sexual assault; advocating appropriate changes in law enforcement procedure and increasing access to legal and medical services to survivors in need.
The NCPDV, which meets quarterly in either Carson City or Las Vegas, is geographically balanced, culturally diverse, and representative of the various disciplines involved in domestic violence issues.
Travel and per diem reimbursement are provided for official Council functions.
