Attorney General Masto Chairs Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence Meeting

Alamo, NV – Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto chaired the annual rural meeting for the Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (NCPDV) in Alamo, Nevada today at the Rapport Executive Retreat.

    “I want to thank both the Council members and the community members for attending today’s meeting,” said Masto. “We heard about the successes and challenges of providing support for victims of domestic violence."

      Participants at the meeting discussed the funding for domestic violence services and prevention efforts among the underserved and rural populations of Nevada. The NCPDV reported on the Council subcommittees, which included reports from the Domestic Violence Ombudsman, Southern Nevada Domestic Violence Task Force, Washoe County Domestic Violence Task Force, Attorney General’s Office on Violence Against Women STOP Grant, Committee on Domestic Violence, Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence and Drug Endangered Children Project.

        In addition to General Masto and 15 members of the NCPDV, judges, court staff, Lincoln County sheriff officials and community members were present.
