Carson City, NV – Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced her office will host six trainings in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month for the public in various Northern Nevada locations about the Nevada Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) service. These trainings are free and open to public.
“Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a key time to promote greater public awareness of crime victims’ rights, needs and services, including Nevada VINE,” said Masto. “I encourage law enforcement agencies, victim assistance organizations and community leaders to work jointly in generating greater public awareness about domestic violence, prevention strategies and effective responses for victims.”
VINE provides free, confidential access to offender custody information by phone and online. Registered users can be notified by phone or email when an offender is released from jail or prison. Sign up by calling toll-free 1-888-2NV-VINE (1-888-268-8463) or visit www.vinelink.com.
