Attorney General Masto Seeks New Member for Committee on Domestic Violence

LAS VEGAS - Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto is currently accepting applications from former victims of domestic violence to fill a vacant position on the Committee on Domestic Violence (Committee). Applications should be submitted by May 15, 2014 and will be reviewed by the Attorney General who will make the final appointment.

    “Survivors provide an important voice for this Committee. I encourage survivors who can lend their perspective to apply,” said Masto.

      In accordance with NRS 228.470, the Committee on Domestic Violence reviews, monitors, and certifies programs for the treatment of persons who commit domestic violence and currently consists of mental health professionals, law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, judges and domestic violence victims and survivors. The Committee meets quarterly, at a minimum, in either Carson City or Las Vegas and travel reimbursement is provided for official Committee meetings.

          To apply for the current Committee vacancy, please complete the application, include a letter describing your personal interest regarding domestic violence issues, and what your presence could bring to the Committee as well as a current biography and/or resume. All required attachments must be received by the Office of the Attorney General no later than May 15, 2014 at 3 pm.
