WHO: Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt, Clark County District Attorney Steven Wolfson, other chief deputy district attorneys and victims’ rights advocates.
WHAT: The press conference will focus on Assembly Bill (AB) 49 that enhances penalties for child sex abuse cases and adds various provisions regarding expert testimony and the admission of evidence in sexual assault cases; AB 193 that allows for hearsay evidence to be admitted in certain pre-trial hearings; and Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 17, otherwise known as Marsy’s Law, that creates a bill of rights for victims of crime.
WHERE: The press conference will take place in room 4500 on the fourth floor of the Grant Sawyer State Office Building at 555 E. Washington Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Space is limited.
WHEN: The press conference will begin on Thursday, June 11 at 11:30 a.m., and is open to the media.
