AG Laxalt Encourages Nevadans to Protect Themselves Against Scams
Carson City, NV – Nevada Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt and his Bureau of Consumer Protection are joining state attorneys general throughout the country to celebrate National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 1-7, 2015.
As part of the 17th annual NCPW, AG Laxalt urges Nevadans to learn more about how to protect themselves against scams and theft of private information. Daily consumer alerts will be issued from Monday through Friday of National Consumer Protection Week addressing ways that Nevadans can protect themselves from some of the most common types of scams reported throughout the state.
Topics for this year’s NCPW include tax-related scams that compromise tax ID information, charity and electronic trade-in scams, large-scale data breaches that strip financial information from commercial retail companies and scams that specifically target the private information of individual accounts, including banking information.
