Carson City, NV – Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced an opportunity for Nevada agencies and non-profit organizations to apply for the Services-Training-Officers-Prosecutor (STOP) and Sexual Assault Services Provider (SASP) grants released on March 8, 2019.
The grants are funded by the federal government through the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. The Office of the Nevada Attorney General administers these grants to local, regional and statewide programs providing victim-centered intervention through non-profit service providers, law enforcement, prosecution and courts. These programs enhance victim safety and hold offenders accountable for intimate partner violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking crimes in Nevada.
“Supporting local survivors is one of the most important functions of my office,” said AG Ford. “Unfortunately, Nevada ranks as one of the worst states in the country for domestic violence. I encourage all of our local non-profit service providers, prosecutors, law enforcement and judicial partners to take advantage of this unique funding opportunity and help end the scourge of violence against women in our communities.”
Agencies interested in applying for funding must submit a completed application by Monday, April 22, 2019 by 5pm.
