Justice & Injustice Town Hall Series

On May 25th, 2020, an African American male named George Floyd visited a deli in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he allegedly attempted to use a counterfeit $20 bill. A white Minneapolis police officer arrested Mr. Floyd and handcuffed him and placed lying face down on a city street. During the arrest, the officer kept his knee on Mr. Floyd’s neck for several minutes. Mr. Floyd became unresponsive and later passed away. Bystanders recorded the incident on the smartphones and the videos have since been widely viewed.

The incident was not isolated. More killings and instances of police brutality took place all over the nation, leaving millions of Americans feeling saddened, confused, outraged, and with a general sense of unrest. Protests also erupted here at home in Nevada.

In response, Attorney General Ford began a panel series called Justice and Injustice which brought together state and community leaders to discuss race and policing. Be a part of the conversation and view the series captured on video below.
