Carson City, NV –
Nevada Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt issued the following statement on the
investiture of the Nevada Court of Appeals judges:
"Yesterday's historic
event was a giant leap forward for Nevada's legal system, and all
Nevadans," said Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt. “As a number of
the speakers mentioned: justice delayed is justice denied. Our new intermediate
court of appeals will help ensure timely access to justice for all in our great
State. Congratulations to Judges Jerome T. Tao, Michael P. Gibbons, and Abbi
Silver for making history as Nevada’s first intermediate court appellate
judges.”
The creation of the Court of
Appeals expedites the appeals process and assists the Supreme Court in
publishing official opinions, which will help the Attorney General’s office in
interpreting the law and advising state agencies and clients.
