Attorney General Laxalt Encourages Nevadans to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back

September 22, 2015

Carson City, NV – Today, Nevada Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced that the 10th National Prescription Drug Take-Back will take place on September 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This opportunity is for Nevadans to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

“Last September, Americans turned in 617,000 pounds of prescription drugs,” said Laxalt. “This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health concern, and gives Nevadans the opportunity to reduce the threat of prescription drug abuse.”

Participating Nevadans may bring their pills for disposal to dedicated sites across Nevada. Liquids, needles and sharps cannot be accepted. The service is free and anonymous. For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or the available collection sites, click here.
