Attorney General Ford Elected as Second Vice Chair of Conference of Western Attorneys General

Carson City, NV – The Office of Attorney General is proud to announce that Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford was recently elected to serve as the second vice-chair for the Conference of Western Attorneys General, a bipartisan group of attorneys general working together to cultivate knowledge, cooperate on concerns, and coordinate actions which improve the quality of legal services available to members. Common areas of interest include water, fish and wildlife, public lands, minerals, energy, and Native American law.

“One of the pleasures I enjoy as attorney general is not only taking action on behalf of Nevadans, but also working with my fellow state attorneys general to address issues affecting entire regions,” said Attorney General Aaron D. Ford. “I’m honored to be have been unanimously elected by my peers to help lead this network of attorneys general, and I look forward to all of the contributions we will make to the western states.” 

“We are looking forward to General Ford’s leadership,” said Karen White, Executive Director of the Conference of Western Attorneys General. “His election to our executive board brings an important perspective with his guidance and collaborative efforts with his colleagues will reinforce our Attorney General Alliance and Conference of Western Attorneys General tradition of continued bipartisan camaraderie.” 

The conference includes the 18 member states and territories of Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming and the 25 associate member states and territories of Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser was elected to serve as Chair of the Conference and South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg was elected as the vice-chair.
