Las Vegas, NV – Today, Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford and Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar announced the sentencing of Mark White, a Las Vegas resident, for casting two ballots in the 2020 general presidential election. White pled guilty to attempting to vote both in Las Vegas and in Kingman, Arizona.
On Jan. 8, 2024, the Honorable Jennifer Schwartz found White guilty of Attempted Voting More Than Once at Same Election, a category E felony, and sentenced him to probation not to exceed 18 months and a 12-36 month suspended sentence.
“As I have repeatedly and consistently said, we will prosecute any credible allegations of voter fraud that are uncovered,” said AG Ford. “Voter fraud undercuts trust in our institutions and is a direct attack on our system of democracy.”
“Nevada runs some of the most secure elections in the country, and that means investigating any potential instances of fraud,” said Secretary Aguilar. “I’m grateful to the law enforcement officers in the Secretary of State’s office for all of their effort on elections cases, and to the Attorney General’s Office for showing what happens when you try to undermine our democracy.”
This case was investigated by the Secretary of State’s office and was prosecuted by Special Prosecutor for Consumer Protection and Fraud Matthew Rashbrook.
